ALTERNATIVE PRE-SENTENCE INVESTIGATIONS
Independent Assessment Services offers Alternate
Pre-Sentence Investigations in a format that is unique for your clients. We
will meet with your client and discuss the Pre-Sentence format so that they are
aware of the expectations during this process with us as, well as the State. We
will then meet with your client and obtain background information, have them
sign the necessary releases, and complete an Alcohol and Drug screening if
appropriate. We will then work with your client to identify their needs and
format a plan which is least restrictive in order to meet those needs. We
believe that your client holds the information that is needed to make this a plan,
not a "tool" created by someone else. Independent Assessment Services
will then review your clients prior Department of Corrections file (if
available) in order to evaluate their progress on supervision and to look for
signs of past compliance. This is important if a recommendation for probation
is feasible. Finally, we will look at all of the mitigating factors, which are
often disregarded in the State's PSI. We will then organize all of this
information in a format which is easy to follow and leads to the most helpful
recommendation for your client. Please contact us for more
information and for questions on pricing. Please note that we will accept SPD
cases in many instances. Our track record across the State speaks for itself.

PSYCHOSEXUAL EVALUATIONS
Independent Assessment Services offers Psychosexual Evaluations as well. These evaluations are often requested during the sentencing or disposition phase of the court process, and generally speaking, are designed to identify the following (see ATSA, 2005):
Independent Assessment Services is accepting both State and private pay clients. All reports will be given directly to the attorney. The attorney will then have the discretion in regards to distribution. Please contact us for more information.
- Level of risk for sexual and non–sexual recidivism;
- Recommended types and intensity of interventions that will be most beneficial, including level of care (e.g., community versus more secure placement);
- The specific dynamic risk factors or criminogenic needs to be targeted through interventions;
- Amenability to interventions;
- Responsivity factors that may impact engagement in and response to interventions; and
- Strengths and protective factors relative to the individual, as well as those that exist within family, peer, and other community support systems.

ALTERNATIVE REVOCATION REPORTS
We are currently offering alternative to revocation reports. These are typically requested prior to the Revocation Hearing. We will review your client’s Department of Corrections file and locate information which is often disregarded by the probation agent. This information is vital when going into the revocation hearing. You will have documentation to substantiate your client’s claims of compliance. We will also complete a substance abuse screening when appropriate and suggest treatment options based on that report. Some struggles should be expected when a person is placed on probation, although some probation agents are quick to initiate revocation. Independent Assessment Services is here to help you formulate your argument and to provide you with the necessary background information. Please contact us for more information.
AODA ASSESSMENTS
At Independent Assessment Services we provide AODA Assessments which are conducted by a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. In conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor, and state of the art screenings, we will provide you, or your client, with a trustworthy assessment in a reasonable period of time. This is a "Self-Pay" only service. Please contact us for our reasonable costs.
SENTENCE MITIGATION VIDEO
We are excited to now offer this service nationwide. This unique service will give not only the client, but their family and others, the opportunity to give their thoughts to the Court in a relaxed format. Public speaking is terrifying for many people and this service can also help in that regard. Due to the complexity of this service, and the multiple people involved in the production of the video, costs will be based on the location and number of people who would like to be interviewed. We believe this service is most effective when combined with an Alternative Presentence Investigation, however this can be a standalone service if requested. Please contact us for our reasonable rates and to schedule an appointment.
